Awareness

Shark Week 2007 reported that 10 million sharks are slaughtered
for each human life lost to shark attack.

Dead fish fight back!  "Shark Roulette" one of this year's (2006) Discovery Channel premieres reports Shark Fin Soup and shark in general can have concentrations of Mercury.  Be careful of what you eat, it may kill you!

Awareness and education regarding the unknown not only makes us smarter, it makes us less fearful.  Sharks have lived for over 350 million years but very little is known about most of them.  Are there more species (types) that remain undiscovered?  Do Megalodons still exist?   They are champions of the seas and help maintain
a balance in the endless ecosystems in which they live.

One of our goals at www.seaprogram.com is the education of young people.  Because we are unable to visit each elementary school we ask you to take your parents and children to visit an aquarium close to you. Click on one of the links below to see where your nearest aquarium may be.  If you live outside of the United States please click our International link to see if we've listed an aquarium near you.
