The above photographs were taken in April of 2002, off the coast of Dyer Island approximately 10 miles off
Gansbaai, South Africa.  White Sharks, such as these, are powerful and graceful but plagued
by the media as vicious man-eaters.

In truth, they are shy timid animals that require protection as their numbers decline steadily. Fortunately, many governments throughout the world have have established laws to protect them and their oceanic environments.
